The Thunder caught a big break for this one, as reserve center Steven Adams was able to enrage Grizzlies star Zach Randolph so much that he couldn't resist socking Adams in the jaw. While the "punch" wasn't crazy, by the letter of the law he hit Adams in the face and received a one-game ban.
In addition to losing Z-Bo, point guard Mike Conley is struggling with a strained hamstring that figures to slow him down mightily. "Me being banged up, you're going to have to ask more out of different guys, see a lot of guys step up," Conley said. "We're still excited and confident going into tomorrow's game, regardless of injuries and how last night's game went."
Grizz coach Dave Jorger didn't have much to say about the injuries, and focused more on execution of his game plan. "This is it," Joerger said. "Whatever you want to say about the season, it's all come down to one game. Certainly, for us to have the best chance to win, we have to play better than we did last night."
Kevin Durant finally woke up from his "slumber," in Game 6, scoring 36 points on 11-of-23 shooting to go with 10 rebounds. "You don't have no other option but to win," he said. "You can't get the game back. It's Game 7. You have to be ready to go."
