Clearly some Bruins fans haven't learned a lesson from the fallout of the Donald Sterling fiasco. Just days after the Los Angeles Clippers owner was caught on tape being a complete racist, Bruins fans took to Twitter and racially attacked Montreal Canadiens defenseman P.K. Subban -- a black hockey player -- after he scored in double overtime to give Montreal a 4-3 overtime win in Game 1 of their playoff series.

After the teams were evenly matched through three periods and a first overtime couldn't solve anything, Subban beat Tuuka Rask with a bomb of a slap shot from the point on the power play five minutes into the second overtime to lift the Habs to a 4-3 victory and a 1-0 series lead.
The Canadiens earned a crucial road win, one that they'd inevitably need if they are to win the series.

Bruins fans were upset following the game, which is understandable given the heavy emotion of the playoffs. But being upset at a goal is one thing while bringing Subban's race into it is another as angry Boston fans took to Twitter and went on a verbal and racist tirade against the Canadiens blueliner.
While the tweets are too graphic and disturbing to display here at Sports World News, an edited version of what some of the fans tweeted can be found at this link.
While this is just a percentage of Bruins fans venting via social media and doesn't necessarily represent the Boston fanbase as a whole, it is astonishing how small-minded some fans can be, especially just days after Sterling was banned for life from the NBA by commissioner Adam Silver and fined $2.5 million for being a bigot.
While playoff hockey is an emotional time of year for sports fans, the reaction to Subban's double overtime heroics is disgusting and uncalled for.
The Canadiens look to take a 2-0 lead when the series continues on Saturday afternoon while the Bruins will hope to even up the series on home ice. Hopefully now the Boston faithful can just get back to rooting for its hockey team, not worrying about the race of the guy who broke their hearts with a double overtime tally.
