In the aftermath of the Donald Sterling ruling, the next step for the NBA is to arrange for the vote on Sterling’s future. Many owners have voiced their support of Adam Silver’s decision to ban Sterling for life, but a two-thirds vote is required to take any action.

Adam Silver Bans Donald Sterling For Life

Sacramento Kings' owner Vivek Ranadive believes that the vote will be swift and just to the tune of 29-0 in favor of banning Sterling for life. Ranadive believes that the owners of the NBA are good, honest people and won’t think twice to voting Sterling out of the league for good.

"I would be surprised if this was not a unanimous vote," Ranadive said during the interview. "The owners are amazing people -- they're color-blind, and I fully expect a unanimous vote.”

Commissioner Silver stressed that he expects to have a full backing from the NBA owners in this decision and reassured the members of the media multiple times. There is no set timetable for the vote, but if Silver’s sentence was any indication, he will not waste anytime to get all the owners together to vote on the issue.

NBA Owners that have vocally supported Silver’s decision include Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban and Los Angeles Lakers owner Jeanie Buss, among others.
