The state of the quarterback prospects in the draft are constantly changing and in the latest edition of updates, the Texans and A.J. McCarron take center stage. The latest spin on the quarterback carousel has the Texans waiting on a signal caller, and A.J. McCarron going in the first round.

With the Texans holding the top pick of the draft and every round after, they might be taking the value route when it comes to their quarterback situation. According to sources, the Texans could wait until the third round to draft a quarterback and have started to warm up to Pittsburgh's Tom Savage and Virginia Tech’s Logan Thomas.

Gronk Uncertain For Week One

Rumors had circulated that Ryan Fitzpatrick would be the Texans starter in 2014 and the incoming rookie would sit out the season in an attempt to learn the position. Putting those rumors together, it isn't too farfetched to think the Texans could address their needs on defense before taking a quarterback on day two of the draft.

Team By Team Draft Previews

McCarron on the other hand, has taken part in some hear say from the people within the NFL he has spoken to. McCarron told sources that he has been told by teams that they expect him to be selected in the 16-35 pick range. McCarron has gotten little to no first round attention and I believe that this report is a little self advertising by McCarron to get his name out there.

As the draft inches closer and closer, the questions will be answered before we know it. The quarterback carousal will stop May 8.
