Texas A&M standout Johnny Manziel tells ESPN that he hasn't changed his perception since winning the Heisman Trophy in December. "I still see myself as the same person I was before," the sophomore quarterback said.
"If somebody wants to come up to me and freak out, I don't get it. I don't understand it. We did a lot of great things. I've been so blessed to have the done the things I did individually. For me, I don't see it that way. I still see myself as young, the same guy I was before I ever won the Heisman."
Manziel became the first freshman to win the prestigious honor in 2012. Last season, the quarterback known by many as "Johnny Football" led Texas A&M to a 11-2 (6-2 SEC) record during the programs first year in the Southeastern conference, including a stellar performance in Tuscaloosa defeating eventual national champion Alabama, as well as a Cotton Bowl victory over Oklahoma. Manziel finished 2012 with 3706 yards passing, 1410 yards rushing, a 155.3 passer rating and 47 total touchdowns.
