NBA legend Michael Jordan has never been known to have a public opinion on any and all issues that come up in the world, but now he has broken his silence to address Donald Sterling. Jordan has taken a stand against Clippers’ owner Sterling in light of Sterling’s racist comments that have overshadowed the NBA playoffs.

Jordan’s full statement:

"I look at this from two perspectives -- as a current owner and as a former player. As an owner, I'm obviously disgusted that a fellow team owner could hold such sickening and offensive views. I'm confident that Adam Silver will make a full investigation and take appropriate action quickly.

As a former player, I'm completely outraged. There is no room in the NBA -- or anywhere else -- for the kind of racism and hatred that Mr. Sterling allegedly expressed. I am appalled that this type of ignorance still exists within our country and at the highest levels of our sport. In a league where the majority of players are African-American, we cannot and must not tolerate discrimination at any level. “

Jordan is just one of many figures who have spoken out against Sterling, but he carries more weight than others considering he is usually neutral in such situations. The Sterling controversy is rumored to be dealt with swiftly and justly by the commissioner's office, but with the public outcry from so many, you have to think the hammer will come down hard from Commissioner Adam Silver.
