With Paige exploding onto the WWE scene by coming out of NXT and defeating A.J. Lee for the WWE Divas Championship on Monday Night RAW earlier this month, the WWE has specific plans for her character in order to help the WWE Universe get better acquainted with her.

CM Punk returning at SummerSlam?

While Paige began to rise on NXT, the officials backstage realize that not everyone who watches the regular WWE programs such as RAW and SmackDown also follows NXT, so WWE officials are planning on trying to get her over with those in the crowd who aren't quite familiar with her other than her defeating Lee to win the title.

Wrestlingheadlines.com reports that the WWE is booking Paige against a number of low-level heels because there is a feeling among the officials backstage that the fanbase needs to get to know her, understand her character and who she is and also find a reason to get behind her.

Extreme Rules 2014 matches, rumors and possible spoilers

Paige ended Lee's 295-day streak as the WWE Divas Champion as Lee asked for time off to be with her new fiancé CM Punk , who quit the WWE back in January and has been hanging out in Chicago, where Lee plans to move in with him.

The WWE is looking to have Paige wrestle Divas such as Aksana and Alicia Fox to give her a chance to develop before the fan's eyes so that the WWE can propel her to big-time pay-per-view matches that will come in the future.

Paige is set to take on Tamina Snuka for the Divas Championship at Extreme Rules this Sunday live from the Izod Center in East Rutherford, N.J.

It is likely Paige will have a fairly lengthy title reign as the WWE slowly builds her up for bigger and bigger matches.
