Peter King's MMQB

King wasn’t sold on the idea of the Eagles trading up, but did say that the sources he was hearing it from were credible enough to mention it in his weekly Monday Morning Quarterback article.

"I wouldn’t pass it along if the person who told me wasn’t smart and, to this point, reliable. But I just can’t see it, and I have someone who would know better than the rumor source telling me it absolutely won’t happen."

The Eagles are coming off a great season in which Nick Foles came out of his shell and crushed the NFL to the tune of 27 touchdowns and only two interceptions, so excuse me if I’m incredibly cautious concerning this report.

Coach Chip Kelly did recruit Manziel out of high school and his type of play would have translated incredibly well to Kelly’s scheme at Oregon, but this isn't college and the NFL is a totally different monster.

Buffalo Bills general manager Doug Whaley is the one GM that wasn’t shy when asked about smokescreens during the draft process.

“It’s finally one time where we can use you guys [reporters] to our advantage. There are things that you put out there to see if someone bites, and there are some things you put out there that are true."
