Jim Harbaugh is a very loyal and forgetful man.

The San Francisco 49ers coach vigorously defended quarterback Colin Kaepernick to csnbayarea.com, regarding the investigation of a woman's claims that on a night she was with Kaepernick and two other football players, she passed out naked in an apartment and woke up in a hospital the next morning.

"So in some instances, keep in mind this: There's sometimes two sides to stories," Harbaugh told csnbayarea.com. "And I often see the one side reported in the media. And then it gains incredible speed and attention. The other side still remains to be told. Looking at Colin Kaepernick's situation, at some point there needs to be a resolution to some of jump-the-gun, witch-hunt kind of scenario that we're seeing.

"Winston Churchill had a great quote: 'A lie will get halfway around the world before a truth has a chance to put on its pants.'"

"At some point there needs to be a resolution to this, this kind of scenario. I mean, the only victim in Colin's case is Colin's reputation."

But isn't Kaepernick at least guilty of contributing to a situation that escalated when he could have helped diffuse it?

The woman claimed that she was with Kaepernick, 49ers wide receiver Quinton Patton and Seattle Seahawks wideout Ricardo Lockette at Lockette's Miami apartment. She said they all were drinking and smoking marijuana.

She then reported to have gotten naked with Kaepernick but did not have sex with him. He left the room, and Patton and Lockette peeked in, before she told them to get out. That was her last memory, according to a police report, before she awoke in the hospital.

A CBSSports.com report indicated Lockette called 911 twice after the woman refused to leave his apartment, a report that Miami police confirmed to CSN Bay Area. Miami Fire Rescue eventually came to the apartment and took the woman to the hospital around 12:32 a.m.

None of the men has been charged for anything in the situation, and Harbaugh believes no charges are forthcoming.

There is the issue, however, of the marijuana and the simple fact that Kaepernick helped create the situation by getting naked with the woman and leaving her there without ensuring her safety. If Kaepernick is completely innocent of a crime, he certainly could've taken several more steps to diffuse any potential situation that resulted in the woman ending up in a hospital room.

Whether Harbaugh told Kaepernick privately that he certainly didn't put the 49ers organization in a favorable light as vigorously as he defended his quarterback publicly is not known.

Do you think Colin Kaepernick could've done more to ensure the safety of the women with which he reportedly got naked and left, or does he not bear any responsibility? Comment below or tell us @SportsWN.
