The NFL draft often has it’s players that find their stock rising and falling throughout the draft process until they find their final landing spot in April. Now that the draft has been pushed back two weeks into May, the wait and extra time has hurt Teddy Bridgewater more than any other player in recent memory.

According to reports, an unnamed NFL personal executive commented on Bridgewater and called him a “fourth round guy” and not the first round prospect we have been told he is. As a prospective NFL quarterback, there are no words that hurt more than hearing you took a three-round drop. Bridgewater was once the highest-rated quarterback in the draft and only ranking behind Jadeveon Clowney in overall potential, but now it seems he has hit an all-time low.

With a shaky Pro Day and not performing at the combine, Bridgewater has given NFL scouts a limited sample of what he can do and he seems to be suffering because of it. According to other sources there are many teams who are low on Bridgewater, including the Texans who think they can get both Clowney and Bridgewater at the top of round one and two, respectfully. The same source sights that many teams in the top 10 have Derek Carr and Blake Bortles over Bridgewater and one team even has him behind Alabama’s A.J. McCarron.

There is little doubt that Bridgewater is one of the top quarterback prospects of 2014, but apparently at least one team is very low on him. If Bridgewater isn't taken in the first wave of picks in the top 15 then I expect him to be selected late in the first by a team willing to trade up and take a chance on him.

If no team decides Bridgewater is worth trading up for, then the Texans can select him at No. 33 overall in the second round.
