Today at 1:10 p.m. ET, the St. Louis Cardinals (12-10) and New York Mets (11-10) take the field at Citi Field in New York for the final game of their four-game set. The game can be live streamed here. St. Louis fans can hear all of the action on KMOX 1120 while New York fans can do the same on WOR 710.
The Mets have taken two of three so far from the Cardinals, winning the series opener 2-0 on Monday and earning a 3-2 victory Wednesday night while the Cards took the middle game 3-0 on Tuesday.
Lance Lynn (4-0, 3.42 ERA) takes the hill for St. Louis while New York counters with Bartolo Colon (1-3, 5.40 ERA) on the mound. Lynn's four wins tie him for first in the majors in that category.
Curtis Granderson snapped an 0-for-22 skid with a base-hit in Wednesday's game, but he's not in the lineup tonight as 40-year-old Bobby Abreu will make his Mets debut in the outfield. Abreu is the second-oldest Met to take the field in the starting lineup, behind Colon who is 41.
The Mets have a few players over the age of 36 on the team, and manager Terry Collins knows he needs to protect them at times from too much playing exposure.
"You've got to take care of them, for sure," Collins told MLB.com. "You've got to monitor them. That's just the nature of the beast right now. When you get to be 40 or so, it just doesn't come back as fast the next day as you'd like it to."
Cardinals catcher Yadier Molina is fifth in the league with a .367 average while adding three homers and 11 RBIs and he extended his hitting streak to 14 games with three hits in Wednesday's game.
Eric Young Jr. will leadoff and play left field for the Mets and is second in the league with 10 stolen bases.
The Cardinals and Mets play the final game of their four-game set when they take the field this afternoon at Citi Field.
