The Seattle Seahawks were the NFL's most complete team last year, and their fine season culminated in a demolition of the NFL's best offense, run by arguably the greatest quarterback of all time. With championships come challenges however, and the Seahawks might already be feeling the effects of success.

Russell Wilson files for divorce from high school sweetheart

Quarterback Russell Wilson, the clear leader of the team, has filed for divorce from his wife of two years and high school sweetheart Ashton Wilson. In a strange move, the team issued a press release with a statement from Wilson.

I have made the difficult decision to file for divorce," Wilson said. "Clearly, decisions like these don't come easy. Ashton and I respectfully ask for prayers, understanding and privacy during this difficult time. Moving forward, I will have no further comment on this matter."

Richard Sherman backs D-Jax, rips signing of Riley Cooper

It remains to be seen whether or not Wilson's off-field problems will creep onto the gridiron, but he's also playing for a big-money contract extension. He has thrown 52 touchdowns to 19 interceptions in his first two seasons, but has benefitted from an elite defense and running game in both years. Playing for the contract, or staying within the successful formula may become a harder choice.

Another distraction could be mouthy cornerback Richard Sherman's contract status; he backed up his talk and is now openly stating he'd like to be compensated. Part of Seattle's ability to build a dynamic defense was the cheap rookie contract Wilson, a third-round pick, is playing on. Paying Wilson and Sherman could be difficult, and Sherman doesn't sound too willing to sacrifice some money.

"Whatever they feel I am due. I will take it as respect," Sherman told NFL Network. "It's all about respect in this game and the only way people show respect is the dollars. We'll see what happens."

It's hard to argue with his production-Sherman's picked off eight passes in back-to-back years, and has recorded 20 interceptions in three seasons. Given his age (26) Darrelle Revis' one-year, $12 million deal may be a jump off point for the Seahawks' lockdown defender.
