Tonight at 10:00 p.m. ET, the San Jose Sharks and Los Angeles Kings faceoff for Game 3 of their best-of-seven Stanley Cup Playoffs series live from the Staples Center in Los Angeles. The game can be live streamed for free here. San Jose fans can hear all of the action on KFOX 102.1 while Los Angeles fans can do the same on Fox Sports 570.
San Jose took two victories from Los Angeles at home, and now the Kings will hope that coming to their home ice will help them get back into the series. The Sharks won Game 1 on Thursday by a 6-3 margin and picked up a 7-2 Easter Sunday victory in Game 2.
The Sharks have dominated the Kings thus far in the series, but Los Angeles has had the edge in hits, something that San Jose coach Todd McLellan doesn't think is that important.
"That doesn't bother me," McLellan told NHL.com about Los Angeles' advantage in hits. "We've talked so many times about that stat. What is or what isn't a hit. It's the impact that contact has on situations that's important, not the number of times that it happens or anything like that. It varies from rink to rink. We knew going into this series that a lot of people would look at those numbers, both at home and on the road."
The Kings hope to turn things around now that they've shifted back to Staples Center as they've beaten the Sharks in eight straight games in that building, including during their sweep of them in the 2013 NHL Playoffs.
"You can look back and realize situations you were in. You lean on guys," Kings center Jarret Stoll said per NHL.com. "You know what guys are going to bring. We all know we're going to bring our 'A' game tomorrow. I look at the guy beside me and he looks at the guy beside him. We know what to expect from guys."
The Kings will look for some better goaltending after Jonathan Quick allowed 12 goals over the first two games on 68 shots. Antti Niemi has been formidable in net, turning aside 55 shots while allowing five goals over the first two contests.
Joe Pavelski led San Jose in scoring in the regular-season and sits atop the score sheet again in the postseason with four points off of a goal and three assists while four players on the team have three points, including Patrick Marleau off of two goals and an assist and Logan Couture off of a tally and two helpers.
Jake Muzzin and Trevor Lewis each have two goals through the first two games and are tied with Anze Kopitar and Jeff Carter, who each have two assists, for the team lead in points with two.
The series shifts to Los Angeles when the Sharks and Kings take the ice at the Staples Center tonight for their best-of-seven Round 1 Stanley Cup Playoffs series
