Tonight at 7:30 p.m. ET, the Boston Bruins and Detroit Red Wings take the ice at the Joe Louis Arena in Detroit for Game 3 of their Round 1 best-of-seven Stanley Cup Playoffs series. The game can be live streamed for free here. Boston fans can hear all of the action on WBZ 1030 while Detroit fans can do the same on 97.1 The Ticket.
The series shifts to Detroit for the first time after the two sides split the first two games. Boston will look to take the lead on the road while Detroit tries to take advantage of the first of two consecutive home games. The Red Wings notched a 1-0 Game 1 victory on Friday while the Bruins responded with a 4-1 win on Easter Sunday with both games taking place in Boston.
After the Presidents' Trophy-winning Bruins were snake-bitten offensively in Game 1, they pulled out all the stops in Game 2 to nod things up. Now they'll be looking to continue to do it as the series goes on.
"When you play one game, I don't think it speaks much about the series. We have to go in there and make sure we continue to do those things well," Bruins defenseman Torey Krug said via NHL.com. "I don't think we can say we are comfortable. I think we understand what it takes to beat these guys, and I think if we play like that we will have success this series."
Krug and Jarome Iginla each lead the Bruins in scoring thus far this series with two points apiece off of two assists while four different Boston scorers have notched at least one goal.
The Red Wings were happy with the way they played to start the first period of Game 2, however the team got involved in a lot of extracurricular activities after the whistle, something their goaltender wishes they'd do less of.
"I think we got to stay out of the [nonsense] out there and just play whistle to whistle, and not worry about getting into the scrums or anything like that and proving your manhood out there," Jimmy Howard told NHL.com. "Just skate, play our hockey, don't get into their [mode] and get into their scraps playing real physical. Just get back to playing our game."
Howard has turned aside 50 shots while allowing four goals through the first two games while Bruins goaltender Tuukka Rask has let up just two goals while stopping 57 shots.
Detroit has only found the twine twice thus far in the first two games, off of goals by Pavel Datsyuk and Luke Glendening. Daniel Alfredsson (upper-body) has been announced as out for Game 3.
One team will take advantage of this swing game when the Bruins and Red Wings take the ice and the lights come up tonight at the Joe Louis Arena in Detroit for Game 3.
