Add Donovan McNabb to the list of former or current professional athletes who are apparently too broke or not savvy enough to hire a designated driver.

TMZ Sports is reporting that McNabb, a 13-year NFL quarterback who led the Philadelphia Eagles to an appearance in Super Bowl XXXIX, was arrested on a DUI charge in January in Arizona.

The Los Angeles Times also reposted a tweet originally from AZ Family, which is an affiliate of KTVK-3TV in Phoenix, of McNabb's mug shot on Thursday, saying it had been released by the Maricopa County (Ariz.) Sheriff's Office.

The AZ Family account tweeted: "MCSO has released a mugshot of former Eagles QB Donovan McNabb. More details to come."

TMZ is reporting that McNabb worked out a plea arrangement with prosecutors and spent one day in an Arizona jail. McNabb already has served his team, although it is unknown when he spent the night in jail.

The MCSO has not release any additional information about the case or why it released McNabb's mug shot publicly.

McNabb spent 11 seasons with the Eagles after being drafted with the second overall pick in 1999. He compiled a 92-49-1 career record in Philadelphia and led the Eagles to five NFC Championship Game appearances (2001-04, 2008). He had a 9-7 career playoff record but had only one comeback victory in the playoffs during his career.

McNabb threw for 37,276 career years - his other two seasons were spent with the Washington Redskins (2010) and Minnesota Vikings (2011) for a year each - and had 234 touchdown passes with just 117 interceptions. He was a six-time Pro Bowl.

Currently, McNabb works as an analyst for the NFL Network and Fox Sports.
