Less than 24-hours after No.1 Indiana was upset by Minnesota, the Big Ten was once again showcased in a top seeded school falling to a conference foe. Penn State upset No.4 Michigan in an 84-78 win, the first conference win for the Nittany Lions all season.

Penn State was led by a 25-point performance from Jermaine Marshall, who scored a key layup with 1:06 left in the game. Marshall's layup helped the Nittany Lions climb back from a 15-point deficit.

As a team, the Nittany Lions uncharacteristically well from the 3-point area. Penn State shot an impressive 50 percent from downtown, a huge improvement from their 27.6 average in their first 14 games of conference play.

Penn State also capitalized in an uncommon amount of total points scored. The team's 84 points on Wednesday trounces their 57.5 ppg in their previous matchups against the Big Ten.

To their credit, the Nittany Lions have had tough competition all season, with five Big Ten teams currently holding top-15 rankings. However, Wednesday's win over Michigan is a true upset and the most improbable way for Penn State to capture their first conference win.
