There has been a lot of speculation as to who decided to end The Undertaker's Streak at WrestleMania as well as whether or not it was the right decision, and while some believe that WWE CEO Vince McMahon made the call for 'Taker to lose to Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania XXX, a former WWE writer believes it was likely The Undertaker's decision.

The Undertaker had won all 21 of his WrestleMania matches when he ran into "The Beast" at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome in New Orleans on April 6 and lost for the very first time, shocking the wrestling world.

Coming out of the event, it was reported that McMahon made the decision to have 'Taker lose since he was going under the assumption that it may be his last match in the WWE and felt that he should go out on his back like many wrestling legends have done.

It has also been speculated that perhaps The Undertaker decided to end The Streak since he had hand-picked Lesnar to be the one to end it in 2010 and may have held up that thinking four years later. 'Taker may not wrestle again since losing The Streak, especially since his health is a concern now that he suffered a concussion at the event.

According to Wrestlingheadlines.com, former WWE creative writer Alex Greenfield appeared on The Shoot and said that he believed The Undertaker made the decision to end The Streak since when he worked for WWE there was never anyone who wanted 'Taker to end The Streak.

"There is no pressure that is put on the Undertaker to drop the streak," he told the show. "This was the Undertaker's decision; I have no doubt about that in my mind about that whatsoever. Nobody, including Vince [McMahon] is going to go to the Undertaker and say anything other than do you want to end the streak? There's never going to be a (Greenfield impersonates Vince here) 'G--damn pal, Undertaker, it's over, pal. You're dropping the streak tonight.' That would never happen in a million years."

Greenfield also said he believed that The Undertaker went up to McMahon and told him this year would be his last with The Streak.

"He is, and I think it's safe to say, the most respected guy in the locker room," he told the show. "I suspect he went to Vince and said this is the year and Brock is the guy. Thinking about it from Taker's perspective as such of a fight fan as he is, if you're going to go down, going down to the guy who walked away from wrestling and became the UFC heavyweight champion would appeal to his ego."

It's uncertain who decided to end The Undertaker's WrestleMania Streak, however it is fathomable that 'Taker himself made the call.
