On tonight's episode of WWE NXT Thursday 4/17/14, there is plenty to talk about regarding the NXT spoilers and results. There are ebbs and flows to everyone's wrestling career, but no one seems to have fallen as far down in WWE recently as former Funkasaurus Brodus Clay.
While Adrian Neville is an up and comer in WWE and the current NXT Champion, Brodus Clay finds himself on the other end of the spectrum, going back to the NXT stomping ground where he originally started and already rose from.
The question is: Did WWE give up on Brodus Clay, or will he get another chance at the big-time?
It must also be tough for Brodus Clay to see that everyone else he used to run with has moved on to different ventures in WWE. His former Funkadactyls Naomi and Cameron are now reality TV show stars of WWE Total Divas and are regularly featured in Divas matches.
Meanwhile, Clay's former tag team partner Tensai (Albert from the Attitude Era) has wisely realized that his days in WWE as a wrestler were not going anywhere in 2014, and so he has been repackaged and reinvented himself as Jason Albert, WWE Network guest panelist for Raw and SmackDown preshows among other things.
On WWE Main Event a few months back, Brodus Clay tried to explain his character's heel turn, which in my opinion was mistimed and mismanaged by WWE:
Sometimes you are only as good as the material you are given in WWE, but other times it's up to you to really sell whatever they give you to help your own cause.
I truly hope this isn't the beginning of the end for Brodus Clay, so hopefully this program with Adrian Neville kickstarts his return back to the big stage sometime soon.
