Gerry Lester "Bubba" Watson, Jr. walked away from Masters Sunday with his second green jacket in three years against all logic and sense. How is Bubba different from the rest of the pack and why is he so easy to like?

Before we dive into what makes Watson tick, take a look that this question he was asked at his victory press conference about his status as an elite golfer.

"Do you feel like this validates you as an elite player?”

In typical Bubba fashion, his response was both truthful and humbling all in one move.

"No, no. I just got lucky enough to have two green jackets. ... I'm just trying to keep my tour card. ... I'm not out here for everybody to tell me how great I am. I play golf because I love it."

it has been advertised that Bubba has never had an formal golf training, making his Masters’ run all the more unlikely, but really that just adds to his charm. Watson sounds completely honest and content with just being a middle-of-the-pack golfer who just so happened to win his first two majors at Augusta National.

Bubba current ranks No. 4 in the World Golf Rankings after his Masters’ win and became only the 17th player with multiple Masters titles. Listen to Watson speak for 15 minutes and you can see why he is the shining example of a gentleman of the PGA Tour. Watson may be No. 4 in the world at the moment, but he is clearly just happy to still be golfing as a career.
