Don't look now, but two-time NBA champion Lamar Odom could have a new team anytime now if reports that the New York Knicks are interested in signing the versatile, 34-year old big man.

According to ESPN, sources have told them that Knicks president Phil Jackson is pushing for the signing of Odom before the end of the regular season, which includes a team option for next season.

As Marc Stein of ESPN wrote: "Doing so would enable the Knicks to work with Odom throughout the offseason before deciding if he's ready to play -- physically and mentally -- in time for the start of the 2014-15 season."

Weeks ago, it was reported that Odom had met with Jackson, his former coach during the Lakers' 2009 and 2010 championship runs, regarding the possibility of making an NBA comeback. If he signs with the Knicks, Odom could be eligible for the playoffs since he was not on any NBA roster as of March 1. That is, of course, granting the Knicks steal the eighth and last playoff seed from the Atlanta Hawks. As of Friday night, the Hawks have a two-game lead over the Knicks for that last playoff spot.

Odom played two games for the Laboral Kutxa Baskonia in the Spanish ACB . He left Spain after he was ruled unfit to play for one month, with the Spanish team giving him the nod to seek medical treatment in the United States.

It is known around the league that Jackson is one of Odom's biggest fans, and the 11-time coaching champion could use his new position in the Knicks to help Odom get his career back on track.

Prior to being left unsigned at the start of the 2013-14 season, Odom played for the LA Clippers.
