The Lakers own the No. 6 pick in this year's draft and, should he declare, Parker is expected to be gone long before then, with many scouts even projected him as the probable top overall selection.

Recently, Bryant told reporters he would consider it an honor to be in a position to mentor either Parker or Kansas freshman Andrew Wiggins, both of whom are the sons of former NBA players.

While Wiggins has already formally entered the draft, the jury remains out on Parker, who is said to be bothered by the Blue Devils' early ouster in the NCAA tournament and his somewhat subpar game against Mercer.

The 19-year-old All-american shot just 4-of-14 in that game, finishing with just 14 points, well below his season average. Parker hasn't publicly put out a timetable as to when he might make a decision, but the teen star is said to be heavily weighing all his options.
