After months of speculation and rumors, Sting has finally reportedly signed with WWE after the company spending years trying to land him, though the plans for his future with the organization remain unknown.

Wrestlingheadlines.com reports that the former WCW and TNA icon has inked a deal with the WWE, but the way the company intends to use him in the coming year isn't presently clear thus far but he will eventually appear on WWE television, just not right away.
The deal had been close to being signed for a while, back when there were rumors that Sting would sign on and then face The Undertaker at WrestleMania XXX, however the WWE ended up going with Brock Lesnar vs. The Undertaker and were reportedly dragging their feet in signing Sting as it was seen as a "low-priority" and didn't need him for this year's event.
The two sides agreed to the deal a little while ago, but it took until recently for Sting to officially sign it. The plans for Sting and WrestleMania 31 are up in the air as he had always assumed he would face The Undertaker and go after The Streak at WrestleMania, but now that Lesnar defeated 'Taker this past Sunday to end The Streak, it is in question.
The Undertaker's future is up in the air as there have been some mumblings that he may be done with wrestling now that he's 49 and The Streak is over. The Undertaker reportedly always wanted Lesnar to be the one to end it, and now that it's over and 'Taker suffered a concussion in New Orleans, he may be done with wrestling.
The deal includes Sting being on television for the WWE, but at the moment it's uncertain if he'll be a regular character or just build towards one match at next year's WrestleMania 31. There were rumors last month that Sting may get a Hall of Fame induction in 2015.
It's not clear what Sting's role will be, but he will definitely not be a full-time wrestler.
