Former NBA veteran Javaris Crittenton is requesting a judge's approval in not being required to wear his jail uniform to court during his ongoing murder case because he fears it makes him look guilty.

The former Washington Wizards player, who once infamously squared off against then-teammate Gilbert Arenas in a gun-wielding standoff in the team's locker room, recently filed court documents seeking to have his request upheld, according to TMZ Sports.

Javaris Crittenton indicted for drug trafficking

Crittenton was recently taken into custody in Georgia on charges of being apart of a large-scale drug empire then, and ever since has been held without bail stemming from the murder charges he faces in a 2010 killing of a local woman.

TMZ reports Crittenton's filing specifically requests that he be allowed to wear "civilian garb" during his upcoming court appearances because he knows the media is interested in his case and pics of him wearing his prison jumpsuit only serve to give the impression of guilt and make it even more difficult for him to get a fair trial.
