Tonight at 10:30 p.m. ET Oklahoma City's Kevin Durant won't be looking to extend his streak of 25-plus point games, but he will be looking to even the season series between the Thunder (56-21) and Los Angeles Clippers (55-23) at the Staples Center in a game that can be live streamed free by clicking this link. Thunder fans can listen to the game on WWLS 98.1FM OKC, while Clippers fans can find the radio broadcast on KFWB 980AM.
Durant had tortured opposing defenses for 41 straight games of 25 or more points, before the Kings snapped it via basic futility. KD had racked up 23 points in 31 minutes but got plenty of rest with the game in hand as OKC prepares for postseason play. As a matter of fact, Durant even said he's happy the streak's over.
"I was getting so many texts after every game. I'm glad that's over with and we can just focus on the team," said Durant. "If we played well and I had 25 points, that took away from how well the team was playing, so I didn't like that. If we lost, it was all about me scoring 25 points and I didn't like that either. I'm glad we can just talk about the team now."
While OKC is ahead of the Clips by a game and a half with five left to play, L.A. has pretty much been the hottest team in the league for about a month. They know Oklahoma City is formidable, but they're unconcerned with whatever else is going on around the Association.
"Our whole message is to worry about ourselves," forward Blake Griffin said. "We know who we are. We just want to sharpen the things we do."
Both teams are coming off blowout wins, and will be rested for tonight's matchup. "It's just every game's important as far as I'm concerned," Clippers coach Doc Rivers said. "You just want to keep winning and you just want to do that. It's nice to win and guys have relatively low minutes, so that was good."
