Shock jock Howard Stern and former Knicks coach Jeff Van Gundy are waging a war of insults after the current ESPN NBA announcer recently blasted Stern on the air for leaving a Knicks game early.

According to TMZ Sports, Van Gundy added he doesn't feel people like Stern deserve their front row seats based on the way they sometime behave. Stern quickly countered by ripping Van Gundy as a "douchbag" and an a--wipe."

The website adds Stern also labeled Van Gundy a loser and someone who doesn't respect the fact that some people "have a life and can't spend four hours watching a basketball game."

TMZ reports Stern later added "Jeff, I hate to explain it to you, but people who are really busy and have multiple careers going and get up at all hours of the day, they can't stay at the basketball game."

Stern then ridiculed one of the Knicks' winningest coaches, at least in recent times, as a loser, who can't get a job coaching in the NBA because he's a "f--king schlub."

Stern then admonished Van Gundy, challenging him to "say it to my f**king face," the next time he has harsh words.
