The Rams are in the beginning of their process to trade away the second overall pick to the ambitious team that thinks they can pay the price. The Rams are no stranger to trading out of a high profile position--in fact the Rams are in position to trade the No. 2 pick because of their experience when the Redskins traded up to snag RGIII. Rams General Manager Les Snead spoke to Greg Bedard of MMQB.com and spoke of the plenary talks they have been having around the league.

“We have had some conversations with multiple teams,” Snead said. “They’re more flirtatious calls than anything. We have numbers 2 and 13, but Houston has number one. Nobody can really seriously chat with us until they are happy with at least two players. I think what might happen as we get closer to the draft, maybe it comes to fruition what Houston is going to do, maybe it doesn’t, you have more serious talks probably the week of the draft going, ‘Hey, if our player is there at 2, this is what we’re going to offer.’ I think it will get more serious.”

The Rams should have many suitors for both the No. 2 and No. 13 pick in the draft, but look for the Falcons, Buccaneers and Bills to be the top suitors for the Rams. The Falcons have a huge need for a pass rusher and even if Jadeveon Clowney is gone the Falcons could settle for Khalil Mack just to fill a huge need. The Buccaneers are a hot name at the moment due to their recent trade with the Bills to get rid of Mike Williams.

Tampa Bay could be in the market for Sammy Watkins, but he is unlikely to make it to No. 7 overall. the Bills have been rumored to want the Texans No. 1 pick, but getting the No. 2 wouldn't be as hard. Buffalo could have interest in a pass rusher like Clowney or a player they believe will not be around at No. 9 and have no clear view of where he could end up. Other later picking teams could be interested in the Rams No. 13 pick to jump up and grab a quarterback that starts to slide.
