Tonight at 9:30 p.m. ET the Oklahoma City Thunder (55-19), fresh off sweeping the season series vs. the West-leading San Antonio Spurs, will head to H-Town to take on the Houston Rockets (49-25) at the Toyota Center on ESPN. Live stream the battle for free here; Thunder fans can hear the game on WWLS 98.1FM OKC, while Rockets fans can find the radio broadcast on KBME.
OKC's Kevin Durant is shooting for his 40th consecutive game of scoring 25 or more points. If he gets to that mark, he'll tie the record for most such games in a row that is held by the immortal Michael Jordan. "That's a lot of games to be scoring 25 points in a row," Thunder point guard Russell Westbrook said. "You can't just not think about that. That's an unbelievable stat. I think he may just finish the season doing that. He does that in his sleep."
The Thunder are getting hot again, winning three straight and snapping San Antonio's win streak at 19 games. Meanwhile the Rockets are floundering without center Dwight Howard (ankle) and point guard Patrick Beverley (knee), and have dropped three straight.
"(Missing two starters) definitely changes things. Guys are not used to playing that many minutes and being asked to make that many plays," James Harden, former Thunder sixth man said. "It's tough but like I said, we have to figure out a way to get through it. All the good teams have had their struggles. Ours is coming late in the season and we've got to figure it out."
A win over the surging Thunder could be a big boost for Houston. "We're a team that's desperate for a win right now," said guard Jeremy Lin. "We've dropped three in a row and it's definitely not a good feeling and we've got a tough one (versus Oklahoma City). We just have to regroup."
