With the Tampa Bay Buccaneers trading wide receiver Mike Williams to the Bills, are the Bucs gearing up to take a run at Sammy Watkins?

In the most recent mock here and Sports World News, we changed our pick of Mike Evans to the Bucs in favor of a big offensive tackle in Jake Matthews. The Bills would then select Mike Evans over Taylor Lewan due to his off the field issues. Now that the Bills have acquired a receiver in Williams two things become more clear.

1. The Bucs are looking at wide receiver at No. 7 or sooner.
2. The Bills could soon release Stevie Johnson as per rumors.

Now the Buccaneers could very well be content with Mike Evans at No. 7 and he will most likely be there, barring a trade where a team like the Eagles could move ahead of the Bucs, but they could have their sights set higher. The Buccaneers now have the need to make a move for Clemson receiver Sammy Watkins and it just so happens that a team wants to move out of both No. 1 and No. 2 overall.

The more likely move, if any, is the Rams swapping places with the Bucs and take whatever left tackle is still on the board at seven. This deal would work very well for both teams considering the Bucs get the drafts top No. 1 receiver in the draft to pair with Vincent Jackson and the Rams get their left tackle a little later and load up on more picks once again.

The move of Williams to Buffalo makes sense for the Bills who now have a good group of receivers with Robert Woods, Johnson and Williams. The rumor is that the Bills would part with Johnson is they got a receiver they liked, but is Williams that receiver? This could develop in the next few days, but the Bills will most likely go to battle with all three receivers and give EJ Manuel the best chance to succeed.
