Last night should have been cause for a mini-celebration for the Chicago Bulls, with coach Tom Thibodeau netting his 200th career win with Chicago and the team remaining the No. 3 seed in the Eastern conference. Perhaps the bigger story though was how long the veteran coach might be manning the Bulls' sideline.

Try as he might to kill all the speculation about this maybe being his last season in Chicago, Thibodeau's ongoing feud with the team's front office is legendary. "I'm with a team that I love, Thibodeau recently told the Chicago Tribune. "I'm not sure why that'd be a question..I'm under contract. I'm planning on being here.''

Derrick Rose back practicing with Bulls

And still the rumors persist. All the doubters point to how Thibodeau's already strained relationship with the front office was only made worse by the removal of close associate Ron Adams.

With Derrick Rose back on the sidelines with yet another season-ending knee injury and Luol Deng now in Cleveland, it can be argued that Thibodeau has performed his finest job this season simply by keeping the Bulls afloat.

Tom Thibodeau contract rumors

Some have suggested that if Thibodeau and management can't bury their differences perhaps its time for the organization to take a page out of the Celtics book and think dealing him for value the way Boston did with Doc Rivers.
