Light heavyweight UFC fighter Phil Davis won't stop questioning the character and mettle of top pound-for-pound fighter Jon Jones, in a clear attempt to aggravate "Bones" into giving him a title shot. Jones is set to face Glover Teixeira at UFC 172 on April 26. This time, he's speculating that Jones could back out of the match out of fear.

Can Glover KO Jon Jones?

"He may not fight at UFC 172," Davis told MMAjunkie. "It's not too late for him to back out of this one. It's happened before." Davis has made antagonizing Bones a habit lately; just last week Davis compared him to a shortbread cookie.

I will tell you this, I don't dislike Jon Jones. I quite like him. I think of Jon Jones as a shortbread cookie," Davis said. "He's soft, he's sweet, but when I get my hands on him he's going to crumble in the palm of my hand, that's what I think about Jon Jones. But that's just me, and that to me doesn't mean I dislike him."

Davis has also intimated that Jones is afraid of Glover Teixeira's power before, leading to speculation that he'd pull out of the main event which has happened previously. If he did, Davis unsubtly inserted his name into title consideration.

"I'm ready for a title shot whenever it's available," Davis said. "If he happens to back out of this fight for whatever reason, I'm willing to take on Glover Teixeira for an interim championship."

Jones hasn't responded very much-perhaps he's too focused on preparing for Teixeira. Glover though, has said he doesn't fear Jones' skills whatsoever and predicted a shocking outcome.

"He's the champion, but I believe in my skills," Teixeira said. "I believe that April 26 I'm going to go over there and knock this guy out."
