The Philadelphia 76ers snapped their 26-game losing streak and avoided setting a new NBA record for consecutive losses in a season after beating the Detroit Pistons, 123-98 on Saturday night.

The 76ers have not won a game since beating Charlotte on January 15, and their losing streak at home stretched to 18 games.

However, coach Brett Brown downplayed the win saying the team's focus should not be on the losing streak but keeping their sights on improvements as outlined by the franchise's rebuilding program.

"The players I am happy for. Perhaps the stigma, as you mentioned, it is a good thing that it's not attached to their name. But we do see a far greater picture ahead of us," he told CSN Philly.

The 76ers won for the 16th time this season, two games ahead of the Milwaukee Bucks. Still, they share the dubious distinction of having the longest losing streak with the 2010-2011 Cleveland Cavaliers.

"Our judgment day isn't today, and it won't be tomorrow," Brown said. "We're on a three-to-five-year plan," Brown said.

The head coach reminded media members that the Sixers are on a rebuilding program after trading away All-Star Jrue Holiday in last year's draft, and that the team has the youngest line-up in the history of the league.

"And so now we find ourselves here. And it's something that we admitted, that losing is difficult. The pain of rebuild is difficult. Here we are, and it doesn't change our message. We have been transparent from Day 1. We're here to build something unique."
