With Brent Musburger having moved on to ogling Iowa State female basketball fans, Katherine Webb is free to marry NFL draft hopeful A.J. McCarron.
Multiple media outlets reported Webb's tweet that McCarron popped the big question and she said yes on Friday.
She also tweeted a picture of the ring.
The couple became famous during Musburger's rather infamous comments about Webb during the 2013 BCS championship game.
"Wow, I'm telling you, you quarterbacks get all the good looking women. What a beautiful woman, whoa!" Musburger fawned as ESPN cameras showed McCarron's girlfriend in the stands. "If you're a youngster in Alabama, start getting the football out and throw it around the backyard with pops."
According to inquisitr.com, Webb and McCarron met when a friend of Webb's invited McCarron to a party in November of 2012, thinking the couple would hit it off. McCarron, however, appeared intimidated over the impending encounter, inquisitr.com reported.
"Ah she might be alittle to famous for me," McCarron tweeted. "She's probably got all of the athletes after her shes pretty tho."
She now has one athlete who's trying to land a job with the NFL in 2014. According to AL.com, ESPN's Mel Kiper Jr. projected the former Alabama quarterback as a Day 2 draft selection (in the second or third round).
The AL.com reported added however, that Kiper Jr. wondered whether McCarron might be the right-handed equivalent of former USC quarterback Matt Leinhart. Leinhart was a Heisman Trophy winner whose skills never translated to the NFL level.
Webb's modeling career might be able to tide the couple over if McCarron doesn't make it at the next level.
Will A.J. McCarron and Katherine Webb make it as a happy couple? Comment or tell us @SportsWN.
