NFL contracts are known to have some interesting entries from incentives to gifts-- sometimes it puts in rules to save you from yourself. A case of the latter would be Cowboy’s wide receiver Dez Bryant’s contract that basically gives him a curfew and baby sitters.

Jared Allen a Huge Improvement Over Julius Peppers?

ESPN Dallas' Calvin Watkins reports that in 2012 the Cowboys put rules and regulations that Bryant must abide by if he wants to keep playing in Dallas and make the rest of his contract.

- A midnight curfew. If he's going to miss curfew, team officials must know in advance.

- No alcohol.

- He can't attend strip clubs and can attend nightclubs only if they are approved by the team and he has a security team with him.

- He must attend counseling sessions twice a week.

- A rotating three-man security team will leave one man with Bryant at all times.

- Members of the security team will drive Bryant to practices, games and team functions.

Laugh if you must, but it looks that the rules have worked because Bryant hasn't been in trouble with the law in the past few seasons and has produced on the field as well. Bryant is a 25-year-old man who made poor choices early in his career so having clauses in his contract such as this shouldn't bother anyone.

Bryant lost the right to handle himself when he made a commitment to a billion dollar “company” and decided to act recklessly with the money. Some people need the tough love approach to grow as a persona and it looks like the Cowboys have finally gotten through to Bryant via very strict guidelines and rules.
