Despite numerous reports to the contrary, the Chicago Bulls insist star guard Derrick Rose remains out for the rest of the season.

Several media outlets, including the New York Daily News, have reported the youngest MVP in league history was doing so well in his rehab from a torn meniscus that the team expected him to return to the lineup in time for the start of next month's NBA playoffs.

Derrick Rose still Bulls MVP?

Earlier this week, coach Tom Thibodeau took added measures to quell the hysteria. The veteran coach assured ESPN not only won't Rose return during the regular season, but the playoffs are also out of the question.

The Bulls concede Rose may in fact take the court for a few practices with the team prior to the end of the 2014 season, but all of that will be geared toward getting him ready to participate in the World Cup Basketball tournament later this summer, a team for which Thibodeau will serve alongside coach Mike Krzyzewski as an assistant.
