Cleveland Browns rumors [VIDEO]: Mike Pettine wants to draft two quarterbacks?

First-year Cleveland Browns head coach Mike Pettine isn't opposed to the idea of the team bringing in more than one quarterback at the NFL Draft this May as a way to challenge Brian Hoyer for the starting spot as signal caller for the Browns in 2014.

Urban Meyer believes Tim Tebow will return to NFL

According to NFL.com, Pettine said at the NFL Annual Meeting that he may draft a collection of quarterbacks at the NFL Draft in order to give his team plenty of options under center heading into the 2014 campaign.

Pettine expressed confidence that he could find a solid quarterback late in the draft but also said that the team plans to work out Johnny Manziel, Teddy Bridgewater and Blake Bortles, who lead the draft class as the top signal callers.

Philadelphia Eagles 'likely to sign Mark Sanchez

Pettine said if he is taken by the performance of any of the trio, he will likely select one of them with the No. 4 overall pick in the draft if they're still around. He also called Derek Carr "the best natural thrower in the draft."

It doesn't necessarily mean that Pettine and the Browns will select a quarterback with their first pick in the draft as they could look for some defensive help. Pettine referred to Jadeveon Clowney as a "freakish athlete" and told NFL.com that, "as a defensive coach I don't think I'd be too sad to turn in a card on Clowney at No. 4."

The Browns haven't ruled out going after Mark Sanchez after he was released by the Jets, however the Philadelphia Eagles have emerged as a favorite from a group of teams to land the signal caller, who was sidelined all season with a shoulder injury before being cut by the Jets this past week.

Pettine called Sanchez "a player we'll discuss" and said that the two have a "great relationship."

It remains to be seen what the Browns ultimately decide to do at the NFL Draft, but it is possible they draft a few quarterbacks to bring in some competition for Hoyer as the team looks to improve on a 4-12 record and fourth place finish, and make the playoffs for the first time since 2002.
