One of the greatest ever for his actions on the court, Bob Knight is notorious for his off the court actions. He is back in the news for his opinion on one and done college players and he used the word “rape”.

Knight was asked about the NBA’s minimum age requirement and he shared his view with Chriss Littmann on his radio show.

"If I were involved with the NBA I wouldn't want a 19-year-old or a 20-year-old kid, to bring into all the travel and all the problems that exist in the NBA. I would want a much more mature kid. I would want a kid that maybe I've been watching on another team and now he's 21, 22 years old instead of 18 or 19, and I might trade for that kid."

All was going well to that point. Knight shared his view on who he would draft and where he would draft them Nothing to out of the ordinary here. Then.

"On top of it all, the NBA does a tremendous, gigantic disservice to college basketball. It's as though they've raped college basketball in my opinion.”

*Cringe*

Knight is no stranger to controversy and has even gotten himself in trouble for using rape in this context before. Rape is defiantly one of the taboos of the public forum and is not a welcome way of describing something.

Sure Knight got his point across, but at what cost? Knight will always be a controversial figure in sports and will do as he pleases even when he doesn’t use the most delicate language. Maybe someday Knight will choose his words more carefully, but until that time everyone needs to understand what they are getting themselves into when they invite him onto their show.
