Tonight at 7:30 p.m. ET, the Montreal Canadiens (39-26-7, 85 points) and Boston Bruins (49-17-5, 103 points) hit the ice at the TD Garden in Boston for the fourth and final meeting against each other this season. The game can be live streamed here. Montreal fans can hear all of the action on TSN 690 while Boston fans can do the same on WBZ 1030.
Montreal has won four of its last five games while Boston has won 13 straight contests and has already clinched a berth into the Stanley Cup playoffs. The Canadiens have won two of the first three meetings between these teams, but the Bruins picked up a victory last time they clashed, with a 4-1 triumph on March 12 in Montreal.
The Bruins are two wins shy of matching the franchise record for consecutive wins set in 1929-30.
"It's been fun," Jarome Iginla said of the streak, according to NHL.com. "We go into each game with the same approach. We know a lot of teams are trying to end it too. We know how it is on the other side."
Iginla is second on the team with 58 points off of 28 goals and 30 assists while David Krejci leads the way with 60 points off of 16 tallies and 44 helpers and Milan Lucic has found the twine 21 times while adding 32 assists for 53 points.
Michel Therrien said that Peter Budaj will suit up for the Canadiens in an attempt to halt the Bruins streak. Budaj was in net when the Bruins won 4-1 over the Canadiens on March 12.
"It's a challenge not just for Peter but for all our players and we love giving our players a challenge," Therrien said per NHL.com. "One of the reasons Peter will be in net tonight is because we want to share the load among our goaltenders. We made the decision that Peter would be in action tonight."
Budaj is 8-8-2 with a 2.50 goals-against average and a .907 save percentage. Tuukka Rask will likely suit up for Boston, and is 32-14-4 with a 2.07 GAA and a .929 save percentage.
New import Thomas Vanek paces the Canadiens with 58 points off of 25 goals and 33 assists while P.K. Subban has 10 markers and 40 helpers for 50 points and Max Pacioretty has lit the lamp 31 times while adding 18 assists for 49 points.
Two division rivals go head-to-head when the lights come up on the Canadiens and Bruins tonight at the TD Garden in Boston.
