Here at Sports World News we will countdown each NFL teams’ 2014 draft needs and perfect fits. At the end of every team we will make a pick on who the team could take at their position. This is the first edition that features a team that doesn’t have a first round pick. The Colts passed the pick to Cleveland for Trent Richardson. Ouch.

2013 Review: The Colts upset the surprising Chiefs only to get their doors blown off by the Patriots. The Colts are really close to being a real contender, but the offseason the Patriots and Broncos had hurts their odds. Getting Hakeem Nicks solves second the wide receiver problem, but the defense still needs help. Value is key for the Colts draft.

Needs:
Safeties:
The Colts lost Antoine Bethea, and LaRon Landry wasn’t good consistently so priority No. 1 is safety. The position isn't all that deep after the top two players, but Chuck Pagano can find one he likes and mold him into the defense.

Guard: At No. 26 the Colts could have selected the top guard on their board, but again will have to settle for a late-round substitute. The line play needs to improve all around for the Colts but getting a new younger guard is a top priority. There are plenty to be had and 2013 was an indicator the top lineman aren't always the right lineman.

Cornerback: The re-signing of Vontae Davis makes this less of a priority than the other, but the Colts need to find a second one. Not having a first round pick in this draft isn't a terrible thing considering the depth and the Colts have been good in the draft. Look for the corner position to be addressed at some point if not in the second round.

Targets (Second Round): Bashaud Breeland, CB, Clemson
Weston Richburg, C, Colorado State
Lamarcus Joyner, CB/S, Florida State
Terrence Brooks, S, Florida State

Best Fit: Lamarcus Joyner, CB/S, Florida State
The Colts would be in Luck (get it?) if Joyner slides down to them at pick 59, but Joyner has the versatility to make the most of the pick. Joyner can play corner or safety and Pagano can find where Joyner fits best to maximize the value of the pick. The Colts get lucky with a deep draft and a player like Joyner would be a welcome addition.
