Known as "Mr. Big Shot" throughout much of his NBA playing career, Chauncey Billups may now be ready to call the shots for the Detroit Pistons.

The 37-year-old veteran guard and NBA champion is rumored to be a leading candidate to replace GM Joe Dumars at the end of the season, in what's shaping up as yet another disappointing year for the Pistons.

Despite having one of the league's most talented young rosters, Detroit has again struggled mightily this season, prompting the organization to fire first-year coach Maurice Cheeks around midseason.

"Obviously I would look at that," Billups told Fansided.com of the chance to join the front office of the organization with whom he has spent most of his career and won a title with in 2004. "That's like my home away from home. They really adopted me there. Detroit is like my second home. So any opportunity that arose, I would obviously look at."

In all, Billups has played 16 NBA seasons. The five-time All-stars best overall statistical season came with Detroit in 2005-06 when he averaged 19 points and nine assists.
