Mets’ ace Matt Harvey is in the news again for the wrong reasons as he vented his frustrations toward the way the Mets have handled his rehab thus far.

Harvey doesn't agree that he should be alienated from the club when they return to New York and be forced to stay in Florida rehabbing. Harvey spoke for the first time this spring about his feelings toward being apart from the team with Jeremy Hefner, who is also rehabbing.

"I have worked so hard to get to the point where I was, and all of a sudden I get hurt, and it's 'you've got to stay in Florida. You've got to disappear from New York, you've got to do this.' I took pride in living in New York, and being a New Yorker. I live there all year round. It's a place I love being.”

Harvey continued to vent his frustrations to anyone who would listen.

"It's just the fact that I have been not allowed to talk to anybody, and that every tweet or Instagram I send is, do not write. My locker -- me and Jeremy was basically in a closet. I didn't think that was right. I don't know exactly who was in charge of the situation.”

This news comes on the heels that Harvey will likely be out the entire 2014 season after Tommy John surgery and wanting to rehab in New York. The news isn’t good for the Amazins, who would like to keep Harvey around as long as possible due to the ace’s stellar 2013 campaign. Harvey is 24 years old with his best years in front of him, but if the Mets don’t attempt to make Harvey happy soon he could change addresses to the Bronx.
