Tim Tebow's mom was one of the headline speakers at a Florida church this week, where she told a packed First Presbyterian Church she and her family build their lives based on bible verses.

According to NBC2.com, Pam Tebow also told the crowd when it comes to teaching young children about the bible "singing them the verses" works best.

"So that verse goes around and around in their heads," said the mother of one of the NFL's most popular, yet polarizing players. "One time a reporter asked Timmy, 'why don't you talk about yourself?' And he said that verse just flashed into my mind and I told it to the reporter. I read it in the newspaper. So really it works better than us telling them what to do."

Though still looking for an NFL job, Tim Tebow recently told reporters he is at peace as he greeted honorees and cancer survivors at his fourth annual Tim Tebow Celebrity Gala in Florida. In all, Tebow's Wish Foundation hosted about 20 children and their families during the two-day event.

When the subject of football finally came up, the former Heisman Trophy Winner proclaimed "I'm training nonstop, I feel like I'm the best I've ever been, working extremely hard, just loving it."

Tebow last played in the NFL with the Jets in 2012. In three years, his best season came with Denver in 2011 when he passed for 1,729 yards and 12 touchdowns.

For the last two decades, Pam Tebow and her husband have run an orphanage in the Philippines.
