It was reported last month that Rey Mysterio planned on leaving the WWE once his contract expires, which is expected to be soon, however in a recent interview the master of the '619' said that he plans on sticking around in the WWE and is looking ahead to WrestleManias XXX and 31.

Mysterio, who has dealt with a rash of injuries over the last few years, spoke with Atena3.com and said that he had no plans of retiring in the near future.

"At the moment I have no plans to retire, I want to keep fighting so my retirement will be in the distant future," Mysterio told the site. "And once I retire I would love to be inducted into the Hall Of Fame."

Last month it was speculated that Mysterio would leave WWE at the end of his deal and join the AAA lucha libre organization in time to launch their new show this fall, however Mysterio insisted he wanted to end his career in the WWE.

"I have nothing against the AAA but I do not plan to go there, I want to stay in the WWE because it's my home and where I want to end my career," he told the website. "When I renew my contract ends with the company."

There has been speculation that Mysterio may take on Alberto Del Rio at WrestleMania XXX in New Orleans on April 6 at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome, however nothing has progressed on that front and Mysterio hinted that he may be in the 30-man over-the-top-rope Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal at the show.

"At the moment whether or not I will not, but I think I will have a place in the battle royal in honor of Andre the Giant," he told the publication.

Mysterio also spoke of the future stars of the WWE that are appearing on television and ready to take it to the next level.

"The future is Roman Reigns, Seth Rollins and Tyson Kidd, the latter deserves more opportunities on television, is very talented and Seth Rollins has a similar style to that of CM Punk," he told the site.

Despite the past rumors of Mysterio leaving, it appears as though he'll renew his contract when it expires soon. According to Wrestlingheadlines.com, Mysterio has been added to the WWE Films Flinstones movie that will be coming out next year around WrestleMania 31.

It has been reported that Mysterio was planning to stick around in the WWE for at least another year and that he may call it a career after that. Last month it seemed as though WWE officials were prepared to downplay Mysterio on television until he re-signed or informed them that he was leaving. Now it appears as though an extension will be signed soon.

It remains to be seen what Mysterio's role will be at the biggest show of the year, but it looks like for now he will be sticking around in the WWE.
