All-Star guard Kyrie Irving could miss the rest of the Cleveland Cavaliers season after suffering a left triceps injury during the team's 102-80 loss to the Clippers Sunday night.

According to the Cleveland Plain Dealer, Irving left the game late in the first quarter and never returned. He later left Staples Center with his arm in a sling and is scheduled to undergo an MRI sometime on Monday.

The blow couldn't come at a worse time for the Cavs, who at 26-41 are struggling mightily to try and land the Eastern Conference's final playoff spot. Currently, Cleveland trails Atlanta by 4.5 games for the eighth and final playoff spot with just 15 games left to play.

After a history of nagging injuries, Irving had missed just three games for the Cavs this season before suffering his latest injury.

"I wish I had an opportunity to look at a lot of replays tonight, just to make sure everything was OK out there,'' Cavs coach Mike Brown told the Plain Dealer.

The 21-year-old Irving did not speak to reporters after the game.
