Two clubs in the top half of the Premier League table will do battle today in a league match between Manchester United and Liverpool. The first-division battle scheduled for 9:30 a.m. ET will be held at Old Trafford in Manchester and can be live streamed here free.
Decades of history and glory will be revisited when Liverpool visit Manchester on Sunday. The two most-storied clubs in English football, however, will renew their rivalry in reversed roles. It's no longer Manchester chasing the top of the Premier League table. Entering Week 30, it's Liverpool who are in the thick of a title race and in a position to contend for their first league title since 1990.
At the moment, that's all Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers is concerned with (h/t to the Mirror). "The benchmark for this club has always been to be the best. Our benchmark has never been Manchester United," the Anfield manager insisted.
"Liverpool will always be judged on being the best across the whole of Europe, not just against United. They were Champions and serial winners when I came in, we were eighth. But even then, our benchmark was to aim to be the best, no matter how difficult, because that is what Liverpool must do," he added.
"So, it's not about United. Our focus is only on Liverpool and what we can achieve this season"
