LeBron James is having the finest year of his career in terms of field goal percentage, and while some of his counting numbers have dipped ever so slightly, some personal news may be distracting him. According to reports, Savannah James is four months pregnant with the couple's third child.
James is well known for being a doting father, even featuring his sons in commercials where the family plays basketball in his driveway. In February, James attributed his ability to balance being the world's best basketball player and having a family to his absent father.
James posted this message on Instagram: "Like, wow Dad, you know what I don't know you, I have no idea who you are, but because of you is part of the reason who I am today. The fuel that I use-you not being there-it's part of the reason I grew up to become who I am.
"It's part of the reason I want to be hands on with my endeavors...so me in a position allowing people around me to grow, that maybe wouldn't have happened if I had two parents, two sisters, a dog, a cat and a picket fence you know?"
LeBron recently posted a photo of teammate Chris Bosh's daughter on Instagram and expressed his desire to have a daughter. "OMG I NEED A DAUGHTER!! @chrisbosh I'm too jealous of u dude! She's amazing. #DaddysLilGirl."
One would think having a baby on the way, a pregnant wife, and a family to look after would detract from LeBron's on-court performance, but the four-time MVP's 2013-2014 campaign has been rock solid.
James is averaging 26.9 points per game, seven rebounds, 6.5 assists, 1.7 steals a night, while shooting over 57 percent from the field and 38 percent from 3-point range.
