Tonight at 8:00 p.m. ET the scrappy Chicago Bulls (35-28) will host the defending Western Conference champion San Antonio Spurs (46-16), who despite a vicious rash of their own injuries have thrived and currently sit atop the West standings. Live stream the game by clicking this link; Spurs fans can hear the game on 1200 WOAI, while Bulls fans can tune in to the radio broadcast on 1000 ESPN.
Without Derrick Rose and Luol Deng for most of this season, the Bulls have been held together by center Joakim Noah, who is starting to hear MVP chants inside the United Center. Noah is averaging career highs in scoring (12.2 ppg) and rebounds (11.3 rpg) while blocking a shot and a half a night.
The cheers were especially loud after a win on Sunday afternoon vs. the Heat. "I want what they have -- a championship," Noah said. "One day, we're going to have to get through those guys."
The Spurs recently topped Miami as well, which was a big boost to the Spurs morale after struggling for much of the year against elite teams. "It's always hard after a big win against Miami, the emotions," point guard Tony Parker said.
"We wanted to make sure we didn't come out flat, and Orlando, they came out firing. They were shooting the ball very well from outside. They are young and they wanted to prove something. They made it hard on us but it's a big win for us."
San Antonio has won six straight games, and averaged a whopping 106.6 points per game over their past 16 contests following an ugly 86-point showing in the first meeting between the Spurs and Bulls. The Bulls will be hard-pressed to duplicate that feat tonight however, with much of Spurs coach Gregg Popovich's troops in good health.
