Andrew Bynum set to make debut for Indiana Pacers this week? [VIDEO]

Andrew Bynum hopes to be cleared this week to make his much anticipated debut for the suddenly struggling Indiana Pacers.

Bynum told IndyStar.com on Sunday he hopes to be "cleared to play next week," and has actually penciled in Friday, March 14 when the Pacers play in Philadelphia as his return date.

"We'll see after Sunday's game goes and then we'll probably meet about it Monday and try to come up with a firmer plan," Pacers coach Frank Vogel told the website.

In 24 games for the Cleveland Cavaliers this season, Bynum averaged 8.4 points and 5.3 rebounds before being traded to the Chicago Bulls who instantly waived him. Over his career, the 7-0 center, has shown flashes of dominance but has also been limited with knee problems.

Still just 26, Bynum won two NBA titles in L.A., starring alongside Kobe Bryant and Pau Gasol. Since arriving in Indiana, Bynum has worked with the team's training and medical staff to build up his knee strength and game stamina.

"He looked good," Vogel told the website. "And he looked like he can give us some short bursts."
