Amir Khan was bitterly disappointed that he was passed over by Floyd Mayweather Jr. for a May 3rd pay-per-view date, and is now refusing to help along the career of Mayweather's protégé Adrien "The Problem" Broner. Since announcing Marcos Maidana as his opponent, Floyd has egged on Khan to take on Broner as the secondary attraction.

"Money" Mayweather thinks Broner should quit rapping, tweeting?

"Is Amir Khan's name still in the lottery drawing? Absolutely. Absulotely, but we must take one fight at a time, and, hopefully, May 3, Amir Khan and Adrien Broner both can be on the undercard to make the card that much more explosive," Mayweather said. He had also issued a challenge involving Broner on Twitter, to which Khan responded that Floyd was "full of s**t."

Khan's opponent isn't set in stone yet, but his trainer Virgil Hunter has confirmed he'll be fighting within the next eight to ten weeks and won't be going toe-to-toe with Broner. "I can say that it [Khan's next fight] will not be Adrien Broner," Hunter told Sky Sports. "People talk a lot in this business but I can assure you it won't be Adrien Broner.

"I'm not at liberty to [say more]. This is a business and out of courtesy to my whole team, I don't think it would be right. But I think you'll be happy in the next few days when you get clarity on the whole situation. I'm not at liberty to speak about it but I think in the next few days it will become apparent why it is a blessing in disguise."

Amir Khan says Mayweather "scared" of his style, speed?

Possible opponents for Khan with Floyd out of the picture are Robert Guerrero, Shawn Porter and Luis Collazo. If any of them land a date with Khan, the remaining fighters may get to face Broner, who is looking to rebound from his battle with Maidana.

Mayweather thinks Broner will be able to overcome the loss vs. "El Chino," and seemed to think he was simply overwhelmed by the step up in competition and needs to adjust.

"I think that it's different levels," Mayweather said. "Adrien Broner is used to fighting a stationary target to where he can pick a guy apart, to where, with Maidana, it's an all out war. He's coming straight ahead. No matter what you're throwing, he's throwing back."
