It came straight from the horse's mouth. There was no conversation of any kind between New York Knicks forward Carmelo Anthony and Chicago Bulls center Joakim Noah regarding the former possibly joining the Bulls next summer.

The New York Daily News reports that Anthony himself denied reports that he was being recruited by Noah after scoring 29 points on Friday night to lead the Knicks past the Utah Jazz for their second straight win.

"No, not at all, "I can't have that conversation," NY Daily News quoted Anthony as saying.

Reports surfaced a few days ago that during the All-Star Weekend, Noah had told Anthony that he should join the Bulls should he opts out of his contract on July 1. The stories also pointed out that Anthony was receptive to the idea, adding that his son's favorite player is Derrick Rose and wondered about what it is like to play for former Knicks assistance coach and current head tactician Tom Thibodeau.

Even the media friendly Noah refused to talk about the reports on Friday.

"You want me to address that?" he said as per ESPN.com. "I don't feel like addressing it. I really have nothing to say about it."

Both players avoiding the conversation could have an explanation, as Knicks coach Mike Woodson on Thursday said that recruiting Anthony, who is still under contract with the Knicks, would be in violation of NBA tampering rules. He also dismissed the story by adding: "It's a bunch of nonsense. People just start throwing stuff out there and then they wait for everyone to respond to it."
