Shawn Michaels was retired by The Undertaker in a career vs. streak match at WrestleMania XXVI, and while the question of whether or not "The Heartbreak Kid" would return for one more match seems to pop up every time WrestleMania draws near, Michaels insists that he's done with wrestling.

Shawn Michaels talks about wanting to face Daniel Bryan

Michaels, nicknamed "Mr. WrestleMania" for his memorable performances at the biggest show of the year time after time, was once again asked by several people at a World of Wheels event in Chicago over the weekend if he'd consider coming out of retirement for one more match at WrestleMania.

According to Wrestlingheadlines.com, Michaels gave the answer that he was "done with in-ring wrestling" when asked about possibly returning.

WWE wanted Shawn Michaels to come out of retirement and face Daniel Bryan

While Michaels' 6-11 overall record at WrestleMania isn't astounding, he got the moniker "Mr. WrestleMania" for his astounding performances at the event which includes classic clashes with Razor Ramon in a ladder match (X), Bret Hart in an Iron Man match where he captured his first WWE Championship (XII), Chris Jericho (XIX), Chris Benoit and Triple H in a triple threat match (XX), Kurt Angle (21), and his back-to-back bouts with the Undertaker (XXV, XXVI).

It was reported in December that the WWE was mulling trying to convince HBK to come out of retirement to take on his protégé Daniel Bryan, whom he trained to become a wrestler. The WWE was hoping Michaels would come back and face Bryan in one last WrestleMania match, however they said that the "ball is in his court."

It seems as though Michaels is staying retired out of respect to The Undertaker, who defeated him at WrestleMania XXVI in 2010 to put him into retirement. Michaels expressed that he would love to face Bryan when he was asked on a podcast by the WWE who he'd face if he was able to come out of retirement. Michaels named Bryan atop a list of many others.

"That's an easy one for me, it would have to be Daniel Bryan," Michaels told WWE.com during a 30 Years of WrestleMania podcast last month. "I'd throw in any of The Shield members. I think those boys are talented. Throw in [Dolph] Ziggler in there, throw in Damien Sandow, I think Bray Wyatt and the Wyatt Family are really good. There are a number of guys put in the right positions that you could just tear the house down with. And at the end of the day, that's what it's all about, it's going out there and having a whale of a time making people yell."

While it would be exciting for Shawn Michaels fans everywhere if HBK came out of retirement, it seems as though "Mr. WrestleMania" has given the WWE Universe his final WrestleMania moment.
